White Bread/Buns

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, instant yeast and salt in stand mixer bowl and stir until blended.
  2. Combine water, milk and butter. Microwave on high (15 sec increments) until very warm but not hot to the touch (120F - 130F, butter won’t melt completely). Add to flour mixture.
  3. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
  4. Add 1 cup flour; beat 2 minutes at high speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
  5. Stir in just enough remaining flour so that the dough will form into a ball.
  6. Knead on floured surface till smooth, elastic & springs back when lightly pressed (~6-8 mins).
  7. Form into a ball, place in oiled bowl, cover with a towel and let rest for 10 minutes.

Bread

  1. Preheat oven 400F and spray two 8.5” x 4.5” loaf pans with nonstick cooking spray
  2. Cut dough into 2 equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into 12x7 rectangle using a rolling pin.
  3. Beginning at short end of each rectangle, roll up tightly. Pinch seams and ends to seal.
  4. Place, seam sides down, in greased loaf pans.
  5. Cover with towel; let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
  6. Bake for 20-30 mins or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from pans by running a knife around the edges and invert onto a wire rack.
  8. Grease top of loaves with butter or margarine.

Buns

  1. Line __ x __” pan with parchment paper
  2. Cut dough into 15 equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a ball pinching the seam to seal
  3. Place, seam sides down, on lined pan in 3 rows of 5.
  4. Cover with towel; let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven 400F
  6. Bake for 20-30 mins or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from pan with a spatula and place onto a wire rack.
  8. Immediately grease top of buns with butter or margarine
